I'm a neurodivergent, UK-based counsellor, psychotherapist, and clinical supervisor, offering a warm, collaborative, and authentic approach. My work is both neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed, grounded in Person-Centred Theory, respecting that you are the expert on your own life.
I began my counselling training in 2003 and have since worked in charities, within hospice care as the Counselling and Bereavement Lead; running the counselling service and supporting families and people at the end of life. I have also worked in education, first as a lecturer, and then for a leading awarding body, helping to uphold standards in counselling and psychotherapy. I have assessed and moderated counselling qualifications from levels 2 to 6. I now work in private practice as a Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor. I absolutely love my work and I see it as an honour and a privilege. Something I am immensely passionate about.
I am a Clinical Supervisor, and clinical supervision is a mandatory, formal, and regular arrangement where counsellors and psychotherapists review their client work with an experienced supervisor. It ensures ethical, safe, and effective practice by supporting practitioner well-being, enhancing skills, and maintaining professional standards. I have had the pleasure of supporting several of my supervisees to successfully achieve their BACP accreditation. I am also a mentor to counsellors developing a niche, newly qualified, or wanting support setting up their private practice.
My passion is in supporting neurodivergent and highly sensitive adults and families, and those experiencing grief, loss, or life transitions. I hold an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice (research-based, focused on understanding how to best work with neurodivergent people), EMDR training, and I am an Accredited Member of the BACP.
My style is down-to-earth and I draw on creative, visual, and psychoeducational approaches to meet each person's unique needs. Above all, I aim to provide a safe, accepting space where you can explore what matters most to you.
I have a neurodivergent family. I enjoy music, films, documentaries, reading, and nurturing my ever-growing plant collection (with mixed results!). I also love museums, art, nature walks, meditating, sound baths, enjoying time with my Tibetan singing bowl (great for regulation), and walking the family dog, a fluffy Goldendoodle. My curiosity about people and the world keeps me continually learning.
