The Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision
The Seven-Eyed Model, developed by Shohet and Hawkins, provides a comprehensive framework for supervision by examining the therapy process from seven distinct perspectives, fostering deeper reflection and skill development for supervisees. These "eyes" include:
(1) the client and their context,
(2) the therapist’s direct interventions,
(3) the therapeutic relationship,
(4) the therapist’s transference/counter transference,
(5) the here-and-now of the supervisory relationship,
(6) the supervisor’s own experiences and responses, and
(7) the wider systems and organisational context influencing the work.
This holistic approach encourages therapists to explore not just clinical techniques but also personal reactions, relational dynamics, and systemic factors, enhancing self-awareness and ethical practice.

My work also draws on my lived experience and a trauma-informed ND affirming lens. My experience includes 14 years as a therapist working 1:1 with neurodivergent people as well as group work. I have worked in Counselling Education, CPCAB moderation (Levels 2–6), hospice bereavement leadership, and lecturing, I provide integrative supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists, as well as other health professionals. I have done Masters level research in neurodiversity.
