I currently have a couple of spaces available for supervision. The work I supervise is focused on clients aged 18+. My practice includes offering counselling supervision for adults, specifically for established counsellors, therapists, trainees, and other health professionals who may need support. If you are working with children and young people, I would recommend finding someone that specialises in that area.
I believe that supervision should be a collaborative working partnership, where you can discuss not only your daily client work but also your professional, personal, and academic development. This occurs in a safe and restorative environment designed to keep you thriving in your work.
Therapeutic supervision with me provides a reflective space where we can celebrate your progress, collaboratively troubleshoot, and openly discuss your work along with any issues or concerns you may have. I view supervision as an essential ingredient to maintaining our well-being, preventing burnout, and ensuring best practices. It offers regular opportunities to reflect deeply on all aspects of ourselves as practitioners and our practice, ensuring we work as effectively, safely, and ethically as possible.
I have always valued the supervision I have received as a practitioner and understand the benefits of regular, supportive supervision. My goal is to offer the high standard of professional supervision that I have been fortunate to experience throughout my counselling career.
Several of my supervisees have successfully achieved their accreditation while working with me, and it is a privilege to witness their growth as practitioners and their progress towards meeting professional goals. While accreditation isn’t for everyone, I am here to support those who wish to achieve it, as well as experienced counsellors, counsellors in training, and newly qualified practitioners.
Here are a few frequently asked questions:
Do you work with children and young people?
I don't. If you are seeking a Children and Young People's Supervisor, I won't be a good fit. I recommend returning to the directories to find someone suitable.
Do you work with couples?
No I don't and the directories will list supervisors that do supervise couples work.
What can you expect from supervision with me?
I am down to earth, approachable, warm, and caring, and I appreciate humour in my work. You can expect a collaborative and supportive supervision experience that offers new perspectives, inspires you, and encourages growth, creativity, and learning. All questions are welcome, no matter what they are. I aim to provide an encouraging environment that cultivates creativity while helping you achieve your goals.
What supervision qualification do you hold?
I hold CPCAB's Level 6 Certificate in Therapeutic Supervision.
What counselling qualifications do you hold?
My counselling qualifications include an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice, as well as CPCAB's Level 5 and Level 4 diplomas in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Therapeutic Counselling. Please see the qualifications page for further details on my qualifications, training, and recent continuing professional development (CPD).
What model of supervision do you use?
I primarily utilise Hawkins & Shohet’s Seven-Eyed Model, Proctor’s Three-Function Model, and Stoltenberg and Delworth's Developmental Model in my work.
What counselling models do you use?
My counselling approach is informed by Humanistic, Person-Centred theory at its core. My work is eclectic, incorporating modalities such as CBT in terms of understanding thinking errors, but I am not a pure CBT therapist. Other modalities I incorporate in my work are: Existential, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Transactional Analysis. I work from a trauma-informed lens and am EMDR trained. I also provide a neurodiversity affirmative approach, recognising and respecting the diversity of human minds and the value of neurological differences as normal human variations.
Supervision
I offer integrative supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists, as well as other health professionals for clients aged 18+. Fees range from £60-70 per hour, and I have a small number of concessionary and trainee spaces available. I used to be a counselling tutor and I have worked for CPCAB, the UK's leading specialist awarding organisation for counselling qualifications. I have assessed and moderated counselling qualifications from level 2 to 6 and I am experienced at supporting student counsellors. I have also successfully supported several supervisees to achieve their accreditation.
Mentoring
I provide mentoring for qualified counsellors and those in training. I am experienced in mentoring those developing a niche and supporting counsellors to set up their private practice. Feedback I have received indicates that counsellors working with neurodiversity often appreciate a reflective space to think about their work and how to best support their clients. This space is also beneficial for newly qualified counsellors looking to set up their private practice, as it offers input and guidance from someone experienced in running a successful private practice.
To determine if we are a good fit, I am happy to offer an exploratory chat.
Please contact me to discuss your individual or group supervision requirements, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
